Mayor Tempesta and Chairman Cecere of the Department of Public Works Committee of the Township of West Caldwell, announce that the Fall Hydrant Flushing Program will begin on Monday, September 11, 2023 on Mountain Avenue at the northern end of the Township and will proceed to the southern end of the Township at Beechtree Road. The program, which will require approximately five (5) weeks to complete and will be carried out during week nights between the hours of 8:00P.M. and 12:00 A.M. It is necessary for proper maintenance of our water distribution system. The procedure provides an opportunity to test the Township’s fire hydrants and also removes accumulated sediment from water mains.

Residents are urged to check to be sure that their water is running clear before starting any laundry during this time. If there are any questions about the program, please contact the Township Water Department at 973-226-2300, Ext. 3400.

Residents are reminded that the latest updates on the hydrant flushing program will be available on TV Channel 36/47 as well as the Town’s website, www.westcaldwell.com.
