A Taste of the Islands Comes to West Caldwell
(8/21/03)

There weren't any swaying palm trees to lounge under but there were icy margaritas (sans alcohol) available as we heard the sounds of Parrotville at the West Caldwell Gazebo. The band played a number of songs in tribute to singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett along with other tropical island tunes. One of its signature songs, "Margaritaville", prompted an enthusiastic response from the crowd which did a great job singing along with the band.

Prior to the start of the concert, West Caldwell Mayor Joseph Tempesta honored Corporal Michael Orr who just returned from a tour of duty in Iraq as part of the US Marine Reserve. Corporal Orr is a patrolman in the West Caldwell Police Department.

Did you miss the show? You can get information about the Parrotville band as well as hear some of their songs on their website at www.parrotvillelive.com .

The show this evening was sponsored by JP Morgan Chase Bank.
